Wide glacier
carved valleys are rare. This valley with its many
spectacular waterfalls and gigantic granite structures is
the most amazing
that our staff have ever seen. Take in the wondrous
views along the valley and experience walking into the
sprays from the waterfalls. For more adventure, float down
the Merced river that runs down the middle of the
valley. Don't miss the animals and watch the
mountain climbers challenge the steep cliffs.
From the valley, there are many day hikes including the
walk from Happy Isles to Vernal Falls. The
granite monoliths have recognizable names including Half Dome and El
Capitan. Yosemite Valley is reached using
CA 120 from west via San Francisco and from the east
across Tioga Pass Road. From the south use CA
41. Also tour other parts of Yosemite: Glacier Point and Tioga Pass. |

| Yosemite Valley has many hotels and restaurants. We recommend staying at the Yosemite Lodge however this hotel is often reserved a year in advance. For dinner, we recommend dining at the Ahwahnee. If these hotels are not available, there are many others outside the park in the cities of Mariposa and Oakhurst. | ||||
